Summer is a time for fun in the sun, but it can also be a time for stress, dry skin and hair, bites and stings!

Aromatherapy can help you beat the heat, so you stay cool and calm, with hydrated skin and hair, all summer long.

Aromatherapy oils to reduce anxiety when flying (safe for kids)

 

Try lavender essential oil, roman chamomile essentail oil and / or sweet orange essential oil. Lavender and chamomile are both very soothing and relaxing, and the sweet orange is a lovely happy aroma.

You can simply inhale from the bottle, or put some drops on a tissue, your sleeve or in your aroma jewellery, and inhale regularly.

If you want a pre-made combination, try our Sleep Ease pure essentail oil blend, or our roller ball that is safe to apply straight to skin.

 

Post swim aromatherapy body spritz

 

After washing off the salt or chlorine water, refresh your skin with this soothing, hydrating and refreshing aromatherapy body spritz.

In a 100ml bottle, fill with a flower water or distilled water and add 60-120 drops of essential oil. Try either  lavender, chamomile, or geranium essential oils (or all 3!) and spritz your skin after swimming to help soothe and hydrate it.

(2-4% dilution)

 

Fix the Frizz hair oil treatment

 

In 100ml carrier oil, mix in 60 drops of essential oil. Choose from lavender, cedarwood, rosemary, roman chamomile and / or peppermint.

Apply some of the oil blend to your scalp and run through the length of your hair, massaging in gently. Leave on for 30+ minutes.

You can also use this under your swimming cap, so your hair is getting a treatment whilst you swim!

Wash off as usual.

 

Moisturising and rehydrating body oils

 

Try these moisturising, gentle, balancing and healing to help hydrate your skin after a day in the sun:

Organic shea butter, aloe vera oil, coconut oil and jojoba oil.

 

Ditch the itch and soothe the pain of bites and stings

 

Add 50ml witch hazel to a 100ml bottle, and add in 30-75 drops of lavender essentail oil, close the lid and shake vigorously. Apply to the bite or sting regularly.

Use a pump spray cap for an easy spritz.

 

Verruca be gone home remedy

 

Mix 15 drops tea tree and 15 drops lavender in 10ml of castor oil and apply 2-3 times a day.

(10% dilution, for acute shorter term application)

 

Jelly fish sting home remedy

 

Mix 10 drops lavender, 10 drops tea tree and 10 drops roman chamomile essential oil in a 10ml castor oil and apply 2-3 times a day.

(10% dilution, for acute shorter term application)
